![]() NEW STAFF MEMBERS AT OASIS We want to welcome Marcelo and Angelica to our Oasis staff. After three years of seeking and prayer, God provided a couple to help Pedro and Fran at the boys home. They had come to San Luis after living 13 years in Oregon, with a missions call. God miracuosly brought them to Pedro's door, and they all hit it off well. They have the blessing of their church and are doing well so far. They are both Mexicans and speak spanish and english. They have two children, Daniela 10, and Moses 4. Pray for them and Oasis as all get used to the new circumstances. |

This trip was absolutely amazing. I have grown so much in my relationship with God. The dump was the hardest thing I had to do this trip. The only reason why it was hard is because Satan was getting to me. He was telling me I was weak and I was way too tenderhearted to endure that kind of mission. But I prayed with a couple leaders about it and when I arrived I was still a little bit hesitant. I sat in the van for a little bit with two of my friends. After a while, I heard God telling me that if I didn’t get out of the van, I would regret it. So my friends and I prayed together and we got out of the van. I had three bags that had soap and a washcloth in it. I went up to these three ladies all standing together and I gave the bags to them. When I handed them to them, they were so happy to get them even though they had no idea what was inside. That really made me feel selfish and ungrateful for what I have because these people here have absolutely nothing and we can get at least all the necessities that we need to live, plus most of the things we want. I love you Caring Hearts and I thank you! God bless you! - Megan I grew up in a home as a small boy with my mother, father and older sister. My father did not want to have anything to do with us so I was very lonely. Throughout my teenage years I tried to fill that loneliness the best way I could and was never able to find it. I then as Jesus into my heart in my twenties and from that day on I have never felt fatherless. At the orphanages and rehab centers many men and children were fatherless and I can relate to that. They just need to accept Jesus and follow Him. – Mike |

God used other people’s needs to speak what I needed in my life. – Molly God can use me no matter how old I get. I was so blessed by what is happening here for outreach and the kids. I really wasn’t excited about going to be in a different country but God said obey. I did and couldn’t say how much I’ve been blessed – finding out how you can’t out give God – look out! God’s going to move. Strength beyond strength – let the weak say I’m strong Let God blow your mind – taste and see how good God is – Thank you for being an example of Christ’s goodness! Faithfulness, love, strength, joy – I Cor 14 – also enlarge your tent. – Joanne My trip Mexico was the most amazing experience of my life. It really showed me how selfish I have been. The people down here are so grateful for simple necessities, yet I can’t remember the last time I thanked God for my many luxuries. The kids are amazing, too! It’s hard to believe that you can become so attached to someone in just a matter of days, when you don’t even speak the same language! I know that I will be changed for the rest of my life. – Nick |

I really wanted GOD to do something in my life on this trip. He used the kids and the people at the dump to remind me of how fortunate I am. He also told me that He was going to help me with all of my troubles. I have been feeling like GOD wasn’t there but feelings aren’t the truth. He told me that He was with me no matter what I go through. If you are thinking about going…GO! You will be glad that you went and thank me – trust me. I really hope that if you are reading this, you will go on this trip. God bless!!!! – Elizabeth Caring Hearts is well organized with great facilities for the volunteers. It is a wonderful mission trip experience and on different levels, life changing. I highly recommend Caring hearts Missions. – Pat God really worked in my life on this trip. You could see the love He was pouring out daily. The kids are so loving and they reach out to you in so many ways. This is my first mission trip. (I’m glad it was to Bethel.) and I know it won’t be my last! I love Mexico! – Lauren |

This trip was amazing. God worked in everyone in so many different ways. Before this trip, I was going through some rough times with friends and school and I pretty much gave up on God – because I thought he was supposed to help me. – But every time I prayed he didn’t. So I just gave up. But coming on this trip showed me that God will always be here for me no matter what happens and where I go. Also he has showed me that he knows what is best for me, so I should follow his path and not mine. – coming here and getting so much love from these kids made me appreciate the little things in life more – Sandy The mission to Mexico trip 2008 was amazing. God used us so fully and we touched many lives en San Luis. God really showed me things on this trip. I met a little nine year old girl at the school we painted named Fernanda. We instantly because good friends and parting wit her was extremely difficult. Leaving San Luis is difficult overall, but prayer will contribute to the great ministry here. I love coming back and really seeing God move each time. Now I’m taking the mission to the hometown back in Monroeville, Pa. There are still people to save. Our lives are a mission trip. I cannot wait to visit San Luis again. – Jack

During this trip a lot of amazing things have happened. The village ministries were so much fun and we touched a lot of peoples’ lives. Also, it was great to get the chance to talk to all of the people in the nursing homes and rehab centers. God was definitely there working through all of us to spread his love. Not only were we able to bless a lot of people but we all were blessed by everything that we did. All of the kids at the orphanage are so wonderful and have so much happiness and love to share. I enjoyed every minute I spent with them. I loved this trip and it was such a blessing to be here and be with all of the kids. - Michelle Coming to this orphanage has mean to so much to me. The kids are very nice and fun to play with as well as the wonderful people who run the place and keep it alive. I enjoyed coming to Bethel Orphanage and I know I’m coming back next year. – Jonathan

When I came to Mexico I wasn’t as close to God as I should be. But after a few days he made me realize how good I have it. – Jimmy This mission trip has been amazing. God worked in so many people. He used us to share his love and we were blessed in the process. Going to the dump was hard and I wasn’t sure that I would be able to get out of the vans. As we were driving through and I was seeing all of the people that lived there, my heart broke for them and I knew that God wanted me to get out and talk to them. I was very hesitant at first about touching anyone but a woman came up to me and shook my hand it wasn’t so bad. The people there were so loving and accepting of everything we had to share. They are so grateful for the little things that they do have and I realized how much I take advantage of things. God has blessed me so much and I hardly ever take the time to thank him. Going to the dump has given me a new perspective and I’m really glad I went out of my comfort zone and blessed others. – Brittany My mission trip was amazing. The caring hearts missionaries were very helpful and kind. The kids are so awesome, too. Just the way that they hunger for love touched my heart. I never want to leave because I love the kids so much. – Randy |

Caring Hears is ministering to Jesus as it ministers to the least of these. It is a ministry of sheep, not goats! Jesus sees it all, and rejoices over it! What a privilege to be a part of it for a few days! – Lance God really touched me I spoke to so many people’s hearts and trust, that I touched a lot of people, the kids at the orphanage really touched me in unexplainable ways. I will always pray and love them, thank you. – Josh God was definitely here in San Luis! His love was moving like the current in an ocean. Lives were touched and hearts were humbled. Doing the will of the Lord is more satisfying than anything in the world. This trip was more than amazing and I hope to return to Bethel many more times in the future. God is so wonderful and he has blessed us all on this trip. I love Mexico and it is a life changing experience. – Brandon |

I’m not sure the name of the village we visited with street ministry on Monday night, but while there I had the opportunity to meet a young girl who I had heard (from previous team members – My aunt Lori Lecocq – has the same skin disease I have. I had never met anyone with (Ichthyosiform) before, in my life of 19 years. So I had put some thought into it, the moment of meeting someone else that is. It was an intensely emotional meeting. Regardless of all prior thoughts, I found my self with nothing to say. Sarai (12 years old) has a more severe case than I have. I felt like I saw someone through the eyes of God. The most perfect sight my eyes have seen. I talked to her, prayed for her, and felt her cracked arms and hands. She was suffering with her body, even as I talked to her. She told me she used to be in a school which specialized in disorders like ours, but (she did not give a reason why) couldn’t go any more. She told me her parents didn’t help her with the maintenance of her skin. I went in the store and they had no lotion that would be of any help. Invasive care lotions don’t even phase Icthyosiform skin, but I bought every jar of the most similar thing they had to what I use and sent her home with them, I even pulled jar from my bag in the van. As I looked to God with a broken heart later, I just said why did you so ordain me to meet this girl, And what should my take away be from this experience, when all I have is an overwhelming feeling of I Need To Do More. I’m still asking. I would like to support this girl. She has not way of getting things she is in need of. I would only need a mediator. – Anthony Up until right before the trip I was excited about coming. This is my 3rd trip and I was looking forward to seeing the kids again. About 2 weeks before the trip things weren’t going great with my friends and I was feeling really alone so I didn’t want to come spend a week with those people. After we got here, I realized how selfish I was being. This trip wasn’t about me. It was about sharing God’s love with others who don’t know him and showing these kids love. I am so glad that I didn’t back out of this trip. It has really changed me. - Brittany |

My trip to Mexico was truly humbling. It was a real eye opener and it showed me how much we take for granted every day. To see the people that have nothing but God have a happier life than us who have what ever we want, when we want. It broke my heart to see how the people here have to live. I was really surprised at how all of the people responded. It really showed how hungry they all are for some kind of love. I really felt blessed when God gave me the opportunity to come on this trip. I honestly believe that god used me to touch someone’s life, if only just one person I know I touched someone. I love the children of San Luis. And I would return in a heart beat. – Bekah I love coming to San Luis, Mexico because God uses the children to show us His love. The people here are so open and receptive to the gospel. It makes it hard to leave. – Brice |

At the beginning of this trip I was extremely aprehensive and even a little nervous about coming to a different culture. However, with the Lord by my side I was able to come here with an open heart and experience all the joys and happiness that were to come. By building this house for that family, I saw why the Lord wanted me to come here. They were so thrilled to have this new house when they basically had nothing. Hermana Lupe even said that she didn't think the Lord could ever bless her like this. this trip has been a moving experience that makes you realize how truly blessed each and every one of us are. - Marissa

The highlight of my trip was listening to one of the boys read "If you give a mouse a cookie" in first English and then in Spanish. He had to really work sounding out the English version, but stayed with it and did a great job. Very impressive!! Juana and Rachel are certainly doing a great job with the children's education. This had been our prayer from our first trip that there would be a way for the kids to improve their education so that they would have more and better opportunities. - Marty |

This second mission experience in San Luis was even better than the first. The children remembered our team members and were very comfortable to be around us. Although I still don't speak spanish, communicating with everyone was easier than before. Many of the children have grown in their use of the English language and have found fun ways of getting their point across. My daughter and I enjoy growing together in this experience and come back home with a renewed appreciation for the many blessings in our lives. It is a humbling opportunity to live, if only for a short time, among the gracious, grateful people of Mexico. My prayer for the Children of Bethel is this: that as they watch the hundreds of missionaries come through their life they will one day be called by our Lord to pay it forward to other children who may come to follow in their footsteps. As they grow physically each day, may they continue to grow spiritually knowing God is always in control of their destiny. Thank you Bethel staff for another phenomenal week. - Paula |

This is my third year at Bethel. As in the past I was so impressed with the care and love the children are given. The Christian influence is very evident through the children's actions. We come to give but got way more in return. The blessings we recieved will be remembered for a lifetime. Also we were so excited to hear how good the children were doing in school. Again, another indication of how well prepared the children are, not only spiritually but academically. We continue to pray for God's goodness on all. - Toni |

This is my 5th time at Caring Hearts and each time I leave more blessed than the previous time. I love these kids and get to know them better each visit. Silly as it sounds, I feel like they are "my kids" in San Luis. I am so honored and excited that we as a group had the privilige of taking some of the kids to the pool for the first time, got to sit with them and have them read to me, and had the opportunity to be part of a VBS. Sharing God's love with them and teaching them praise songs. Ministering in the village is also a privilidge and it is such a blessing to return each year and renew relationships. I praise God for allowing me to be part of this ministry. - Sherry It made my heart beat fast the night before we left when I looked back at pictures from previous years and thought that I would be seeing those precious faces in a day. I was so happy when I arrived and was greeted by Daivd because he was my special friend in the previous years. I was so happy he was excited to seee me. It also made my heart melt when I got a letter from him and it said that he didn't want me to leave but he wanted me to come back next year. I just pray that I made one more week in his life special, because he is truly special to me. I think about him through out the year because I have tons of pictures of him and I hope he thinks about me. I love the kids of Bethel and I just pray that I can come back year after year. - Rebecca

| Bethel Church | Please pray for the
church, as many of our regular goers struggle with family problems that
impede their ability to attend. As we grow closer to our adult members,
we see the great need San Luis has for the Grace and Love of God to save
and touch lives. Pray for our youth program we are doing every Sunday night at 6:00 PM. It has been a success so far but attendance has fallen. Pray that our leaders will be motivated and equipped to continue on week after week. Pray that our young people will be bold in inviting new young people to come. |
